Stellar Jay

When we moved to Mackay for a year in 2009,
as I looked through the second bedroom doors,
I saw some Blue Jays at our bird feeder.
I took pictures, but who knows where they are!
The Jays were eating our peanuts.

I had never seen a Blue Jay in person before.
I was so excited!!!

This morning, I looked out our front french doors
and noticed some birds flitting about.
One was a Magpie.

These birds are common in our front yard.
Many people don't like them as they are a tad aggressive,
but I like them.
: )

Then I noticed the birds that the Magpie was hopping around
weren't the same color.
Their heads were black,
there was a tufted crown,
and they were blue, not white,
on the lower portion of their bodies.
I tried to take a picture with my phone.
I am a shaky old lady some times,
so THAT didn't work.
But this is what they looked like.

Again, I had never seen one before!
It is a
Stellar Jay!
There were 4 or 5 of them.
Maaan, that made my day!!!

I have seen an assortment of birds in our yard over the years.
My favorites include:

Tanager

Downy Woodpecker

House Finch

Black Capped Chickadee

Pine Grossbeak

Cedar Waxwing

I look forward to seeing much more this summer!
I have never seen the
Mountain Bluebird,
the Idaho State Bird.
: (
Some day!!!!

I need to do a happy dance this morning...
I saw some awesome birds!!!
Dance!
My new favorite J. Mraz song.

Oh Jason, you make me so happy.
I wish I could write songs like that,
and make other people so happy that
they want to dance!

Have a magnificent Monday,
my little
munchkins!!!

Love to you all!
