God brings men into deep waters,
not to drown them,
but to cleanse them.
~John Aughey
I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
~Dr. Seuss
When I see a man who, bravely,
Meets realities in life,
Who carries on, courageously,
In the face of grief and strife;
Then, I bow my head in honour
Of this man, with courage rare,
Who has such strength of character,
Who, bravely, his burdens bears!
Meets realities in life,
Who carries on, courageously,
In the face of grief and strife;
Then, I bow my head in honour
Of this man, with courage rare,
Who has such strength of character,
Who, bravely, his burdens bears!
~Gertrude T. Buckingham, "Courage"
Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.
~Henry Ward Beecher
So do the Winds, and Thunders cleanse the Air:
So working Seas settle and purge the Wine;
So lop't and pruned Trees do flourish fair,
So doth the Fire the drossy Gold refine.
So working Seas settle and purge the Wine;
So lop't and pruned Trees do flourish fair,
So doth the Fire the drossy Gold refine.
~John Davies, "Nosce Teipsum," 1599
The photos you used for this blog are absolutely beautiful. As for the saying: When life gives you lemons, please, just don't squirt them in other people's eyes.......... I've never heard it that way before. Perfect!

ReplyDeleteSquirting lemons in the other people's eyes I guess is more important than making a lemonade or a tequila with it...
The other day my 16 month old son ate half a lemon while I and my husband watched stunningly! :-D
