Still a child...

So, like a forgotten fire,
a childhood can always flare up again within us.
~Gaston Bachelard

I love the 50's and 60's
I was little then.

Eating in your car was sooooo cool.

Illustration in children's books was just sweet.

Cars were awesome colors
and could be a
 beautiful shade of yellow....

and pink.
And men drove them proudly.

The trucks were works of art that were drool-worthy.

Men looked at modestly dressed
cuties...

and teens were pressed, or dressed very well!

Cheese slices were real, thick cheese.

A popular idol was a cowboy and his cowgirl wife.
Roy and Dale.
; )

Dishes were real pretty.

Men were encouraged to give
chocolate to girls.

Grandmas looked like grandmas.
50 was 50,
not trying to look 30.

Oh, and nerdy swim caps were cool.

I know looking back is silly.
I just enjoy the simplicity
of those naive days.

And the sweetness.

I'd give all wealth that years have piled,
The slow result of Life's decay,
To be once more a little child
For one bright summer day.
~Lewis Carroll, "Solitude"

Wouldn't that be awesome to have the ability
to visit your self as a child or
be a child again for a day?
; )

Here's to having a wonderful week
filled with wonder!
Sending love to you all,
my little sweeties!
xoxo

I know of those who would not
re-visit their childhood.
This sweet quote is for you.
I wish that you could visit my childhood.
and be treated with oodles of love.

"He carried his childhood
like a hurt warm bird
held to his middle-aged breast."
