In the Spanish Speaking Caribbean islands (Puerto Rico, Cuba and Dominican Republic), parasol or umbrellas as we call them are used to keep the hot sun from our faces and arms. You see lots of older stylish ladies and many young ones as well here in Miami also wearing them as a fashion statement.
