Grateful for Oatmeal

These days my hubby is prone to fix
oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar and butter
every morning.

Our house smells
delicious.
And....it makes me sing in my head one of my favorite songs
'it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood'
even though there are grey skies and chilly weather outside.

Dear Mom and Dad,
thank you for your cheerful example and teaching me
to be grateful every day for all good things in life.
I love you and miss you.
(Muah!!!)

"The virtue of gratitude is global and eternally relevant."

"To express gratitude implies that there is a someone to be grateful to. For Lincoln and many others before and since, that someone is God. After enumerating the people’s many blessings, Lincoln writes that "no human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God,

who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy." "

Italics and bold added by me .

(the previous are excerpts from this awesome
Thanksgiving commentary global-gift-gratitude)

I thank thee Father in Heaven
for tender mercies.

grandbaby kisses
purring kitties
flowers
blue sky
delicious scents
hugs
warm home
my morning cereal
and so
much more...
all the blessings I see
and don't see.

Thank you.

Love to you all,
from my bottomless heart.
