Jessie Willcox Smith, Featured Artist

I have known of JWS since I was a teenager.

She has some very famous illustrations

of children with their mothers,

a child on the beach,

a child in the garden,

etc.

But my favorite Illustrations are the lesser known 

pieces.

Jessie Willcox Smith (September 6, 1863 – May 3, 1935) 

was a United States illustrator famous for her work in 

magazines such as 

Ladies Home Journal and 

for her illustrations for children's books.

She would often do portraits

of children on the request of their 

parents.
