I Love Kitties and Shorpy

THE 100-YEAR-OLD PHOTO BLOG
Shorpy.com | History in HD is a vintage photo blog featuring thousands of high-definition images from the 1850s to 1950s. The site is named after Shorpy Higginbotham, a teenage coal miner who lived 100 years ago.

This is Shorpy.

This is the website that publishes
AWESOME
pictures.

I check it every day and view the updates.
When you get to the website,
if you click on the picture it will get almost as
big as your computer screen and you can see
all the wonderful details of times gone by.

Me being the kitty lover that I am, get quite
a chuckle over these little
kitty vignettes
from 1901 to about 1913.

Totally amazed how they got these animals to do these things and
stay still for even one second!!!!
And...I giggle EVERY time I look at them all!!!!

My favorite kitty pic on the site.

These are her kittens.
Isn't she adorable?
So sweet.

Ahhh...

whistful Wednesday.
Wondering what I will be doing
at weeks end.
Most likely cuddling a kitty.
; )

How 'bout you?
We are almost there!

Love to you all,
my little
whippersnappers!!!

Sears Catalogue 1950' and 1960's

I am just a little preoccupied with
the old Sears catalogues lately!

Look what I found!
Kewl stuff!!!

1958
(year of my birth)

In love with the upper left children's pajamas.

Funny, I found one of these clocks and now I
know where it came from!!!

Same with the milk white carafe!
I have that one!

Remember Pettipants????
Vaguely...

1962

I have a few of these copper items!!

I watch Pickers occasionally,
and these little babies are
valuable these days.

Home of the future....
kewl.

So, now I need a vintage boat.
Dag nabbit!
They are  just too cute!

1966

I still have my Tiny Tears doll.

So click on the one below
and see
Ken a Go Go.
;  )

You're welcome.
; )

1964 catalogue...

So while I am in a nostalgic mood,
I have come across some
pictures of the mall I use to go to as a kiddo.
Sun Valley Mall!

Walgreens!!!!

Was that the place to get
opaque stockings
on the corner?

I remember when the old cars were in the mall!

Bottom left is a restaurant/bar at the mall.

This World's Fare Restaurant
is making me crave some
Hot German Potato Salad,
a roast beef sandwich from the
Hauf Brau,
and a
buttermilk donut.

Apparently it is a famous mall,
being the largest of it's time
and offering
world class foods
and shopping.

Enough of this journey
down memory lane.

Remember today is
Taco Tuesday,
and eat a few for me,
ok?

Sending love your way
my little
tortillas.
